What a fabulous time we had at the conference, for anyone who was unable to attend ask your Agency for some feedback. There were some great sessions of topics that are so important to all foster families. One of the sessions I really enjoyed was the need to support children of families that foster and the need to acknowledge what an important role they have. Ask your agencies how they are able to support your children and if it would be possible to have a special support group for them.
Another big theme at the conference was what supports do fosterfamilies need, let your agencies know what supports are important to you to allow you to continue to keep fostering. It was very clear that different people have different expectations and understanding of what support is. You can only get the support you require if your fostercare worker knows what you consider to be supportive. Keep fostering, looking forward to the next conference to be held in sydney late in 2008. :)
