Anyone who did not catch 4 Corners on Monday night you might like to go onto their website and read the transcript. It was a fantastic show about children born to parents addicted to Drugs and Alcohol, often a topic faced by carers. There are lots of feedback letters from different viewers that are of real interest too. Let me know what you think.

I was very dissappointed with a few things that Bernie Geary said on the show. I also am very concerned about peoples perceptions and beliefs about fostercare. There needs to be a positive public awareness campaign, to improve peoples understanding of how things really are. I regularly get people commenting on how much money fosterparents get and this is why they do it. There is little understanding of what is expected of a fosterparent and what scrutiny they are under.

The money thing is ridiculous. I don't know why some people think that foster carers are paid a lot of money....as these are the same people who seem to think that it is easy. On the opposite end of the scale are the people who want to foster and are worried that there isn't any reimbursement...
